VHR 2008 Harvested from Blocks 4, 6 and 7, this first vintage explores the distinctive attributes of the Ranch. Block 6 carries flavors of the forest with tannins that are brooding, tightly woven. Creekside Block 7 brings cobbly stone and graphite qualities, while our benchland's Block 4 yields a vibrant red cherry fruit, with fine tannins.

Expect wild aromas of crushed blackberries and cassis with dusty cocoa nib, echoes of a woodland floor, intricate spices of dried sage, anise and black truffles. Generously structured and well proportioned, VHR is a true expression of Vine Hill Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon, a pure reflection of place.

Harvest began in the cool morning hours of September 25, ending on October 8. Grapes were picked by hand and fermented as individual lots. Aged in new French oak barrels for 22 months, 300 cases were bottled on August 20, 2010.
